The Charlottesville High School Orchestra poses on stage for a group portrait

SINCE 1982, Virginia’s Charlottesville High School Orchestra program has grown from eight members to one of the largest in the commonwealth, and has earned a national reputation for excellence. Consisting of String Ensemble and Concert Orchestra, we have garnered top prizes in music festivals in the United States—from New York to Chicago, Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Williamsburg, Nashville, Orlando, Virginia Beach, and Myrtle Beach—and abroad in the Caribbean; London, England; Vienna, Austria; Florence, Italy; Paris, France, and Dublin, Ireland. We have performed by invitation at five VMEA conferences and at the Mid-West International Band and Orchestra Clinic.
